As someone who has taken three other courses, this course is the final key to the puzzle. Always the stumbling block in the back of your mind when reading material about Jesus as an observant Jew, is the nagging question, “But what about Paul? What about his condemnation of the Law? After all, haven’t we been taught that the difference between Judaism and Christianity is the difference between being under the law versus being under Grace?” In this class, Dwight Pryor presents compelling information that, per usual, what we think we know ain’t so. As in all the classes that I have taken, Dwight again demonstrates that we in the 21st-century just don’t understand first century context. We know that we have gotten Jesus wrong, but we just don’t realize that we got Paul wrong. While not a video of Dwight teaching, the audio, slides, and transcripts are a more than adequate method for learning the material of this class. This class is highly recommended if you want to understand the truth about “the Works of the Law.“

What you will learn

Include a list of items to support the central theme of your page. Bulleted lists are a great way to parse information into digestible pieces.

  • Paul's continuity with Judaism

  • Understand what Luther got wrong

  • Reconciling Torah and New Testament

  • How we have misunderstood Paul

  • How Jews viewed the Law (Torah)

  • What Paul meant by "works of the Law"

How you interpret Paul will determine how you interpret the rest of Scripture...

WHAT TO EXPECT:  Once registered, you will receive access to our online classroom for four in-depth messages on Paul, the Law, and the Church.  You can watch the audio with slides in your online classroom, and download the audio MP3, and download the transcripts. That's right, all three learning styles are yours so you can master this important content.

COURSE CONTENT: This innovative and important teaching series systematically lays out a framework for understanding the life and letters of Paul. The most difficult questions about Paul's theology and the Law are addressed, and many of the most common and even historical misrepresentations of Paul's views are corrected. Perhaps the most important teaching series Dwight has done since Our Hebrew Lord.
