Any one taking this course, hungering for understanding, clarity and hope, will surely have that goal met. The professor’s presentation was so clear and paced optimally, that caused you to be excited to know and process more. Although having received disjointed bits and pieces through past readings, this course took you by the hand, so to speak, and walked you through the chapters with simplicity. I would love to go through it again to be built up in knowledge of my hope and in knowledge of my God and His Christ— the Blessed Messiah.

Dr. Ron is a very engaging teacher that guides you through a deeper understanding of a book that I personally found very mysterious and confusing. I enjoyed this course and truly feel I gained significantly in my understanding of what the author was trying to communicate. I particularly enjoyed the historical background that was given to provide context for much of the book. This was well worth the time invested.

I found this study profound. I have been going to church all my life and this teaching has given me a fresh perspective of the book of revelation. Most importantly it has taken me deeper in my understanding of Jesus Christ. Thank You

This introduction has excited and enticed me. I am looking forward to delving into the book of Revelation. Other teachers I've heard left me confused and unsettled. I appreciated the victory but struggled through so many other ideas they suggested the scriptures were representing that I shied away from the book of Revelation. Ron has offered many ideas that make sense and line up with rest of the bible in suggesting we can find Jesus's message of love, peace and comfort in the midst of turmoil. I'm ready to keep going, If the rest of the chapters are as interesting as the first one I don't know why anyone would not be encouraged to finish this course. One point I really like is that Ron has broken all this information into short lessons, that's a great help. Thanks Ron, too much to handle in large bites! I have now completed the course and I am enlightened and extremely challenged. Just as the sermon on the mount, and the scriptures that tell us to love God completely and your neighbor as yourself, Dr Ron's interpretation of John's Revelation reiterate that message loud and clear. In Exodus God said He wants to dwell in His people and Revelation brings that into being as all creation is renewed. In Messiah we become new creations and we can help establish the Kingdom of God by walking in the love that was shown to us though it is much easier to say than it is to do. This course helps us see that the message of Jesus rings true in the midst of life around us, that is anything but that ideal, just as it was when Jesus walked among his disciples and challenged them, and us, to choose His way and walk in it!

For the first time and after years of struggle, I feel I have gained some understanding of the book of Revelation. Rather than fright and dread of the unfolding of the events in this book, I now see it as a vision of hope and joy for the people of God. Rather than Revelation being a book set apart from the rest of Bible, Dr. Herms' teaching shows that Revelation is a fitting bookend for Genesis - a return to the good creation of God and living in the presence of God. Rather than looking for a specific person or event to fulfill the vision, I now see that history tends to repeat itself and that there is truth here for every generation. This course challenges my claims as a faithful witness, challenges me to examine my attitudes and values, and challenges me to show my love for God by loving and blessing those around me. Previously I had only heard futurist interpretations of Revelation, but Ron’s course gave me a different, more currently applicable perspective. Thank you for that, and I would recommend the course to others.

Dr Ron Herms takes you on a journey through this fascinating book; his approach is to ask, what was the message that the author John had for his original audience. For me, this is the best way to interpret Revelation and avoids the sometimes unnecessary and far reaching interpretative claims around future prophetic fulfilment in the 20th or 21st Centuries. I'm no expert in Biblical hermeneutics and am willing to listen to all options as long as they take the Biblical text seriously. Ron does this, and I very much appreciated his humble and pastoral presentation that was obviously coupled with the academic rigour and Biblical expertise of someone who has studied the book of Revelation for a considerable time.
